if your going for preppy i would go pastels. neon in going for an alternative-punk look. However believe it or not with some outfits ex: pink and black pinstripe blouse- black nail polish ompletes the preppy look. But i advise it only with black as an accent color- not main color. For a preppy look go for pearlesant finish in:

Julie I have red feet and hands to boot, pretty much year round not just with a sunburn. I find that colors in the cool color family work best. This doesn't mean your limited to blue and purple and silver. There are an array of pinks, reds, wines, and even burgundy colors with cool tones. I'd try to skip the darker ones personally and go with a light neutral or natural looking polish that will also look great once your sunburned feet become more tan looking. Don't forget a French Manicure / Pedicure with the white tips looks incredible against any skin color.


So stop being sad, and get happy feet!
Put some vinegar in the fridge and get it really cold, then stand in the tub and pour it on your burned places. If you have a plastic spray bottle, put the vinegar in that and stand in tub and spray. If not, just pour straight from the bottle.


Then paint your nails Hot Pink or Fire Engine Red :), lol. Hope you feel better soon, maybe it will turn a nice tanned brown in a day or two.

I think you could still go with a lot of different colors, just make sure that they are true, clear, more vibrant colors. I love pastels myself, because they show less chipping, but you could go bright as well. For example, if you want red, pick a clear bright red versus a deep ruby red. Saying you are 'pale' indicates to me you may have cool, or blue undertones to your skin; to check this out, simply take something yellow and something blue; it could be paper, fabric, towels, anything that's blue or yellow....Hold it next to your skin, in clear light, NOT fluorescent!! and you'll be able to see a match between either the blue, or cool tones, or the yellow, or wam tones; if, as I suspect, you are on the cool side, you'd want to wear nail colors with 'blue' undertones; again, get a magazine ad with lip or nail colors and hold the yellow or blue next to them; the cool, or blue undertones I feel you'd look best in (NOW i could be wrong; you could be pale and have the warm, or yellow undertones; bear with me here!!) would be pinks, reds that are not too dark; in spite of what people say, dark nail polish is NOT sexy; it makes your fingers and hands look short and stubby!!!!!!!!!!...if the warm or yellow undertone is really what you are, then corals, peaches, etc. those types of shades would look best, but ALWAYS in light to medium shades, NEVER the darker ones..........no matter what your age...hope this helped, even though it was a little long-winded!!!!!!!!!!! i have the same problem. i always get a french manicure or a really light shade of pink. ballet slippers by essie is good for a french or just a regular manicure. mademoiselle by essie is a nice light pink shade. you also can just put on clear which gives a very natural look. these are the colors i usually use.
Nothing too bright or dark, stick with light, neutral colors. Something like beige, sheer, or clear that will bring out the natural beauty :). You can probably apply some peachy colors.

I have 2 suggestions: both colors are by Sally Hansen 1) ';Sealed with a kiss'; and 2) ';radiant rose';.


Both are a sheer pink and would look nice for a wedding day.

Personally, I would go with a french manicure. It's just my style and it matches everything. But if you want a pop of color I would go with red. But then if you like to wear colors according to the seasons then go with a dark red.
I would go with a maroon color or a crimson color. Do something dark definitely.

I wear every colour imaginable regardless of how it looks with my skin tone - sometimes you just have to rock it.

You have to work out if your skin suits warm or cool colours. If you suit warm colours and wear cool colours it will make your hands look washed out just the same as if it were makeup or a dress. Fair skin tends to suit warm colours. When you choose a green polish make sure it has more yellow than blue in it and with black make sure it has a hint of gold or another warm colour as an undertone.
if tou have light skin, then pretty much every color should look good on you! I have tan skinned so im the one with a problem when it comes to color.. But with your skin color you can rock light or dark shades!
Light skin goes great with everything! I know what you mean, though. Usually I go with pinks and blues.

Black nail polish was in last year but I still wear it. Fall is coming up and a deep red would look perfect on nails or toes this season. Right now neon %26amp; bright highlighter-like nail polishes are very in. Like Rihanna, she wears lots of neon green %26amp; orange. For you, I would suggest you get a nice pink color, not hot pink or anything, but a subtle pink. Also your coral idea was a great one. You can always be on the safe side with a french manicure. I wouldn't go far from earthy toned nail polish (earthy toned pinks and browns that is) Don't do anything wild like black, green, blue, silver, etc. You could also do a light red if you want to be bold. i believe none looks better on short nails. Because short nails that are polish looks like a 8 year old fingers, so leave your nails grow and polish it anycolor you want.
Red, pink, or you can use lighter colors too. As long as your nail are neatly filed and manicured, they will look nice with any color.
It depends on your skin tone. If you have that gorgeous, exotic olive skin, then dark sultry colors would look great. But if you are bland white like me, then I'd go with paler colors if I wanted to look classy, or if you want to look 'hip' or whatever or be noticed, then a vibrant red or hot pink would be cute.

hm...I wouldn't do a lot of really bright colors. Maybe a blue or black. Gray? Clear or white. I really like pink though and orange, those are bright colors that are good. It depends on your skin tone. If you have a dark skin tone do darker colors, the lighter you are do lighter.

1.Clean the gunk off under your nails





2. Soak them in water for about 5 - 10 minutes





3.Then let them dry ( inyway you want id say blowdryer or air dry though )





4.put some clear nailpolish on your finger nails

I would say some dark red colors, nothing bright or summery. More autumn colors would look better.
I wear a copper/gold color and I love it with my tan.





But another option is a french manicure because the white contrasts well w/your tan. (I just don't have the patience to do it myself)

The best way to do that is to use a nail polish that's a very slight colour darker than the colour of your skin.


When you buy it at the store, get a colour that's about 2 shades darker than your actual skin colour, because when you buy it, it'll be about 2 shades lighter when you actually put it on.

Pick Light beige or pink
As long as your nails are on the short side and are manicured well, it doesn't really matter what color the polish is. I would stay away from real shiny or metallic colors though.

Neutral colours look great on everyone, and french manicures are always classy. However, if you want some more bright colours, a nice punch coloured pink would look great, as well as reds (as long as your nails are not too long, red and very long nails could look tacky).
